Share a locate request

Use this form to share locate requests with contractors working on your project.

Before you start

You can only share locate requests if you are the excavator who requested it. Contractors working on your project must follow the details in the request including:

digging in the exact location
digging to the same or a lesser depth
using the tools specified

You must manually share the locate package with the contractors. This service only submits the locate sharing request and does not automatically send the locate package to the contractors.

Contractor IDs containing Alternate Locate Agreements (ALAs) or Suppressions cannot be used for sharing purposes. ALAs and Suppressions are between the underground infrastructure owner (UIO) and the original submitter of the locate request.

Dig safety

Each contractor digging is responsible for ensuring the safety of the dig.
You must keep a copy of the locate package including the locate request sharing confirmation email onsite during the dig for any inspection.

the locate request number
the email address used to create the locate request
the contractor ID and contact information of all contractors you want to share the locate request with
